Aaron Schwarzenbart

High School Mathematics

Aaron Schwarzenbart grew up in Appleton, WI where he enjoyed cross country, playing broomball on the ice and water skiing. He studied computer science and math education at Winona State University and has been teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry for the past 13 years at The Privett Academy located on Mercer Island in Washington. He is looking forward to moving to the Idaho Falls area with his wife Abby of seven years.

Mr. Schwarzenbart is excited about the opportunity to teach problem solving through mathematics.  He wants his students to know that they are developing critical thinking skills which will be useful in situations such as accurately diagnosing technical difficulties or creating designs for their next project.

He is also looking forward to collaborating with other teachers to help students see the connection between mathematics and the sciences.  He has experience teaching all levels of high school mathematics including AP Calculus and AP Statistics, and he is looking forward to being a part of the International Baccalaureate program.

Mr. Schwarzenbart loves being outdoors doing various activities such as backpacking, mountaineering, running, skiing and rock climbing.  He also enjoys playing and building guitars.
