Ann is a wife, mother of one daughter and three sons, and grandmother of two adorable grandchildren. Along with loving stories, she enjoys running and swimming. Over the past 10 years, she has completed two full marathons and about a dozen half marathons; she hopes to keep this up for a long time!

Mrs. Burns earned her B.A. in English from Grand Canyon University and her M.Ed. in Reading from Arizona State University. She taught 8th grade Language Arts in Arizona and then became an adjunct instructor of English, Education, and Humanities for Rio Salado College. When her family moved to Indiana and then to Connecticut for her husband’s work, she was able to continue teaching online and did this for 15 years.

She and her family moved to Idaho in 2018. She is excited to be back in the classroom, this time working with MYP students at Alturas.
